Super Memory Mastery Guide

MEMORY MASTERY

An accurate and retentive memory is the basis of all business success. Learn to observe, there is a world of difference between seeing and observing. If you can try to observe while you look at something, then you have achieved into improving your memory. Observation is one of the things important to training your memory. Is good to associate something you have observed either by sight or hearing to something you already know. Here what others said...

QUOTES

“I feel assured that there is no such thing as ultimate forgetting: traces once impressed upon the memory are indestructible”- Thomas De Quincey

“ All knowledge is based on our memories.” Plato

“Memories is the treasuring and generation of all things.” –Cicero

Habit is memory

Memory & Observation do work hand in hand. You cannot possible remember anything you do not observe if you don’t remember the sound. If you mean to lose your memory completely, you would have to start learning

You would not remember your name, how to drive your car etc. So all the things are attribute to habit, should be attributed to memory.

Memory, which is a large pot of a trained memory, is not a new thing.

Memory

Derived from the name of the Greek goddess, Mnemoyyne; and memory syst. was used as far back as early Greek civilization. The strong thing is that trained memory systems are not known & used by many more pple most of mnemonics in memory, have been amazed, not only at their own tremendous ability to remark, but also at the kudos they received from their families and friends.

How to train your observation

Look at it speeches are repeatedly, the sense of observation could stand a little sharpening for most of us with a little practice. The sense of observation can be strengthened if you’re interested in helping your memory, don’t sell observation short. If you want to take the time it is a simple matter to strengthen your sense of observation. You can start right now.

It pays to remember foreign languages, vocabulary and abstract information. “The more intelligible a thing is, the more easy it is retained in the memory and constrain wise, the less intelligible it is, the more easy we forget it.- Benedict Spihoza

Does the quote shows any particular brilliance on the part of Mr. Spinoza. You may fell, “sure “ anyone intelligible or makes sense; It is easier to remember “

Perharps the best example is in trying to memories foreign language vocabulary. A word in a foreign is nothing but a conglomeration of sounds to remember. To make them easier to remember, you will use the system of SUBSTITUTE WORDS. Substitute words or thoughts are used whenever want to remember anything that is abstract, intangible or unintelligible something that makes no sense to your substitute words can help you remember names.

Making up substitute words is simply this: upon coming across a word that means nothing to you, that is intangible and intangible, intelligible and unintelligible, you merely find a word, phrase or thought that sounds as close to it as possible, and that is tangible and can be pictured in your minds eye.

Any word you may have to remember, foreign language or otherwise, that is meaningless, can be made to mean something you by utilizing a substitute words or thought.

INTEREST IN MEMORY

“ The true art of memory is the art of attention”- Samuel Johnson.

Obviously, memory rules exist that you can only remember anything you want to remember. If you want to improve your memory immediately, force yourself to want to be interested enough to observe anything you want to remember or retain. Develop the incidence that you will remember for it is very helpful. The memory likes to be trusted, the more you trust it, the more reliable and useful it will become.

Note: Writing everything down on paper without trying to remember, is going against all the basic rules for a stronger and better memory.

If you are interested in remembering, if you have confidence that you will remember, you have no need to write everything down remember tat you can always lose your paper or notebook, bit not your mind. Interest is of great importance to memory.

The things to do is to makeup your mind that you will be interested in remembering name, faces, duties, figures, facts, anything and that you will have confidence in your ability to retain them.

It pays to remember Names and Faces

How often have you been embarrassed because you have to say this? I’m sure it has happened to you many times, usually, of course, it is the name that has been forgotten, not the face.

You see, most of us are what we call “eye-minded”. In other words things that you see, register upon our brains with much more that we hear. Emphasis than what hear. You always see faces, but usually only hears the persons name. That why most of us, time after time, have to say,” I recognize your face, but I can’t remember you name”. Not only can this be embarrassed, but can sometimes hurt in business, and ultimately cost you money. Some people try to avoid this embarrassment by trying to trick people into giving their names before they themselves realize that their name has been forgotten.

A sneaky way of pretending you didn’t forget the of someone you should have remembered is this: merely ask the person what his name is. If he tells you second name, you say “oh, I wouldn’t forget that, it’s your first name I meant.” If the person tells you the first name first, you, of course, say that you know that, but it was the second name you wanted in this way, you get the person’s full name, and if it seems as if you only forgot one of the names.

There is only one thing that is wrong with this little bit of hocus-pocus. If the person gives you his full name as soon as you ask the name in the first place, you’re out of luck.

Our way of life today makes it almost unavoidable to meet many new people everyday. You meet people continually people you want to remember, and people that you do not think are important enough to bother remembering until you meet them again. Then when it is too late, you realize that you should have tried to remember. Would it not be an asset for any salesman to remember the names of his customers?, or for a doctor to remember the names of his patient, a lawyer, his clients etc.

A person’s name is his most price possessions and there is nothing more pleasing to him than hearing his own name or having it remembered by others.

1st rule for Remembering Names make sure you hear the name so get it right I have yet to hear anyone complain, “I know name, but I can’t seem to remember your face”. It is always the name that creates the problem.

2nd rule, try to spell the name if you spell incorrectly he will correct you, try to pronounce it he will make corrections if you wrong. He’ll he flattered by your interest in his name.

Incidentally, if you make a habit of trying spell the name of every new person you meet, you’ll be surprise as to how many of him or her you’ll spell correctly. Eventually, you will be able to recognize how certain sounds are spelled for certain nationalities.

3rd rule, while talking to the person, repeat his name as often as you can in the course of the conversation. Don’t keep jabbering it like an idiot, of course, just use it whenever you feel it is appropriate and necessary. Do use the name when you say good-bye or good night. These will etch the name more firmly and definitely into your mind.

More about names and faces; whenever you meet someone new, look at his face and try to find one outstanding feature, this could be anything: small eyes, large eyes, thick lip, thin lips, high forehead, low forehead, lives or creases on the forehead, long nose, broad nose, wide nostrils, narrow nostrils large ears, small ears, ears that stand away from the head, dimples, cleft warts, mustache, line on the face, large chin receding chin, type of hairline, jutting chin, small mouth, large mouth, teeth-just about anything.

It pays to remember facts people;

“it is the common wonder of all men , how among so many millions of faces the should be none alike”- Sir Thomas Browne

Yes, fortunately, there are no two faces exactly alike. If you use the substitute worse idea for remembering first names after a while you will have one at your fingertips for any one that you meet usually you meet doctor, judges, and commissioners. Mayors and many people with title other than “minister” It is essential to address them correctly because, thought you remember their names , people with titles may be insulted if you do not use that title or if you forget it.

It pays to remember appointment and schedules.

There is not much I can do about those of you who know you have an appointment or schedule and get there late anyway. But I think can help you if you forget these appointments complete. You must learn how to remember your errand or appointment for each day. Try to make conscious association as soon as you have made an appointment. By making this association, you can recall all your appointment for each day of the week without bothering with a date or memo book.
